The scientist behind the description of Melusinaster alissawhitegluzae is Ben Thuy - paleontologist and drummer in the death metal band Scolopender. The reconstruction / trophy was handed over to Alissa White-Gluz on stage at a concert in Luxembourg related to the Rock Fossils exhibition.
 
Etymology. Species name chosen by BT to honour Alissa White-Gluz, singer of death metal band Arch Enemy, for being an inspiring person, and to pay tribute to the intensity, authenticity and passion that she conveys in her powerful vocals.
